The company’s total production of copper metal in concentrate in the first quarter was up 5% from the October-December quarter.
At Las Bambas, output surged 254% year-on-year and 6% quarter-on-quarter to 111,341 tonnes. The remaining copper production came from its Rosebery operations in Australia.
The Las Bambas mine achieved commercial production in July last year.
“Our focus remains on further optimising production and reducing costs for the remainder of 2017,” MMG said.
