South America’s flat steel prices drop on lower Chinese offers

South America’s flat steel import prices have fallen again this week, as low-priced material from China was offered in the region.

Metal Bulletin’s weekly assessment of South America’s hot rolled coil (HRC) imports dropped to $450-480 per tonne cfr on Friday April 21, from $470-480 per tonne cfr a week earlier. Prices for cold rolled coil (CRC) were at $505-520 per tonne cfr, compared with $510-525 per tonne cfr previously, while hot dipped galvanized coil (HDG) declined to $580-590 per tonne cfr, compared with $580-600 per tonne cfr, and heavy plate import prices fell to $460-470...
