German metals distributor Klöckner reports best Q1 earnings in 6 years

German metals distributor Klöckner has shown a 381.25% year-on-year jump in first-quarter earnings amid higher prices and efficiency measures, the company said on Wednesday April 26.

Klöckner’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) grew to €77 million ($83.86 million) in January-March 2017, up from €16 million ($17.43 million) in the corresponding period in 2016.

The improved results were driven by the general price recovery, along with the positive effects of the company's 'One Europe' restructuring and optimisation measures....
