TURKEY FLAT STEEL WRAP: Prices continue to fall, demand moderate in April

Flat steel prices in Turkey continued to fall in April, on moderate demand, and market participants expect May to be just as slow, as the Islamic holy month of Ramadan starts at the end of the month.

Then come the summer holidays, with June and July usually slow months in terms of demand in the country, and with falling prices expected to keep buyers on the sidelines.
However, the country’s flat steel production and consumption did increase in the first quarter of 2017, according to the Turkish Steel Producers Assn (TÇÜD)
Turkey’s flat steel end-product consumption amounted to 4.31 million tonnes in January-March 2017, a 2.60% year-on-year increase.
Flat steel end-product output reached 3.30 million tonnes, up 30% year-on-year
