EU flat stainless steel base prices steady as mills reduce offers

European stainless steel base prices remained largely steady this week as end-user demand remained low, sources said on Friday May 5.

Metal Bulletin’s weekly base price assessment range for 2mm, grade-304 cold rolled (CR) stainless sheet widened upward by €5 ($5) per tonne to €1,140-1,170 ($1,245-1,278) per tonne delivered in Northern Europe on Friday. This was up from €1,140-1,165 ($1,245-1,272) per tonne last week.
