Tisco, Baosteel announce significantly lower May ferro-chrome tender prices

Major Chinese stainless steel mills Taiyuan Iron & Steel (Tisco) and Baosteel have both announced significantly lower high-carbon ferro-chrome tender prices for May compared with the previous month, Metal Bulletin has learnt.

Tisco has offered to purchase high-carbon ferro-chrome at 6,900 yuan ($999.30) per tonne for May, 2,700 yuan lower than its April tender price.
Meanwhile, Baosteel has set a May tender price of 7,100 yuan per tonne, representing a decrease of 2,750 yuan from its offer in the previous month.
All tender prices are delivery duty paid, on a cash basis, including delivery, basis 50% chrome.
