EU stainless steel base prices down on lower nickel costs

European stainless steel base prices moved down following the decline in nickel prices and the impact of exchange rate fluctuations, sources said on Friday May 19.

The London Metal Exchange three-month official nickel bid/offer spread fell by $325-340 per tonne week-on-week to $9,020/9,040 per tonne on May 19.
