CIS billet export prices firm but market remains cautious

Prices in the CIS export billet market remained largely unchanged over the week, sources told Metal Bulletin on Monday June 5.

They were supported by some buying activity, mainly in North Africa, although this was limited as a result of Ramadan.
Metal Bulletin’s CIS billet index was $396 per tonne fob Black Sea on Monday May 5, down by $1 per tonne from $397 per tonne fob Black Sea a week earlier.
Most sales were through international traders, sources told Metal Bulletin.
