JSW Steel to boost capacity at one of India's largest blast furnaces

Indian steelmaker JSW Steel plans to increase the annual production capacity of the largest blast furnace at its Vijayanagar site in Karnataka, south-west India, by more than 60%.

JSW's blast furnace No3 will have a yearly production capacity of around 4.50 million tonnes following the upgrade, according to German equipment supplier Paul Wurth, which has been awarded the contract to carry out the work.
