UPDATE: Marex drags Access World into nickel receipt forgery lawsuit

Warehouse operator Access World has been dragged into a $32-million lawsuit between bank Natixis and brokerage Marex Spectron over a nickel-related warehouse receipt forgery, according to the court filing.

"Marex filed a Part-20 with the defence, therefore including Access as a defendant. Part-20 means that Access are now having to defend the suit from Natixis as Marex do," a spokesman for Marex explained on Monday June 12.
Natixis filed a lawsuit against Marex at the end of May to recover losses over the alleged warehouse receipt fraud.
Yet in its defence filed on June 9, Marex claimed no liability in the case and dragged Access World into the suit.
"By way of mitigation of Natixis’ alleged loss, Marex will contend that Natixis ought to assert its claim against Access World for delivery of the metal described in those warehouse receipts," the brokerage firm said in a defence filing.
Access World was not available for comment at the time of writing.
