Teck updates Q2 met coal sales guidance after confirming contract price

Teck Resources has revised its second-quarter metallurgical coal sales guidance to 6.8-7 million tonnes after confirming a contract price of “approximately $190 per tonne” for the period, it said earlier this week.

The Canadian miner had previously expected to sell 6.8 million tonnes of met coal in the April-June period.
The revision came after the long-awaited second-quarter contract price for steelmaking coal was finally decided after protracted talks “based on an average of three assessments” that resulted in a price of “approximately $190 per tonne”, the miner said.
