CIS billet export prices supported by steady demand in Egypt

Steady demand in the Egyptian market over the past two weeks has allowed CIS billet exporters to achieve higher sales prices in recent deals.

Interest in imported billet grew after Egypt imposed a temporary anti-dumping duty on rebar imports from three countries earlier this month.
This sent Metal Bulletin’s CIS billet index up $1 per tonne over the week to $397 per tonne fob Black Sea on Monday June 19.
