Ford sets aside $900m for Kentucky SUV output

Ford Motor Co continues to invest in its Kentucky sport utility vehicle (SUV) production, earmarking $900 million for upgrades at its Louisville plant to produce the company’s newest offerings, the company said on Tuesday June 20.

The investment secures the jobs of more than 1,000 hourly workers at the Louisville plant. The upgrades are aimed at building the new Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator models, which together account for 8.1% of Ford’s total North American SUV sales for the first five months of the year, it said.
