Feng Hsin Steel cuts scrap prices despite costlier imports

Taiwan’s Feng Hsin Steel has lowered the amount it is paying for domestic ferrous scrap by NT$200 ($7) per tonne in spite of an uptrend in import prices for the steelmaking raw material.

The adjustment, announced late on Thursday June 22, is valid for deliveries from Friday, a company official confirmed to Metal Bulletin.
