China’s export prices for wire rod up, rebar down

China’s export prices for wire rod moved up on domestic gains, but those for rebar moved down amid weak demand over the past week.

Metal Bulletin’s assessment of prices for July/August shipments of chromium-added mesh-quality wire rod was $455-460 per tonne fob for the week ended on Tuesday June 27, up $5 per tonne from a week earlier.

Wire rod prices were at 3,560-3,580 yuan ($521-524) per tonne in eastern China on Tuesday, up 60 yuan ($9) per tonne from 3,500-3,520 yuan ($512-515) per tonne week-on-week.
