European domestic HRC prices reach ‘bottom’

Domestic prices for hot rolled coil (HRC) in the European Union have reached “bottom” after declining for the past month, sources told Metal Bulletin this week.

The price fall is likely to stop due to an improvement in market activity, driven by a rise in mill re-stocking, according to market participants.
“Demand has improved, as buyers started to look for coil with the delivery in the second half [of the year] to put in stock,” a first source said.
