Ternium Mexico to continue buying third-party slab after CSA acquisition

Latin American group Ternium expects to continue to bring in steel slab for its Mexican unit from third parties after the conclusion of a deal to acquire Brazil-based slab producer Companhia Siderúrgica do Atlântico (CSA) from ThyssenKrupp.

“We are buying 1.20 million tpy from [ArcelorMittal’s] Lázaro Cárdenas [unit and] we will continue buying from them,” Ternium ceo Daniel Novegil told analysts during a conference call on Thursday June 29.
