Asia slab import prices rise despite weak trading

Slab import prices increased last week in Asia with support from the positive dynamics in the global flat steel market, sources told Metal Bulletin on Monday July 10.

Asian customers were still not ready to accept higher prices, however, and placed lower bids which were considered unworkable by the suppliers.
The mismatch between bids and offers resulted in modest buying activity in the region.
