Brazilian mills to follow Usiminas lead in pushing up HRC prices

Brazilian steel mills are expected to follow in the footsteps of Usiminas and increase their domestic hot rolled coil (HRC) prices, sources told Metal Bulletin on Wednesday July 12.

The country's other HRC producers are ArcelorMittal, CSN and Gerdau. "The other steelmakers will certainly follow [the Usiminas] move," a local flat steel trader said. A second source agreed.
