LIVE FUTURES REPORT 17/07: Comex copper surges on Chinese data

Comex copper jumped to nearly a four-month high amid a combination of positive Chinese data and a mining incident.

Copper for September delivery on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange gained 3.80 cents or 1.4% to $2.7290 per lb. Earlier, the contract touched $2.7335, the highest point since March 30.
