CIS HRC export prices driven up by more costly Chinese material

CIS-origin hot rolled coil (HRC) prices have gone up over the past week, as deals were done at the earlier, higher offer prices, sources told Metal Bulletin this week.

The prices were supported by the growth in the Chinese export prices, which have risen by $63-85 per tonne over the past six weeks.
Metal Bulletin’s assessment of prices for September shipments of commercial-grade, boron-containing SS400 HRC from China was $478-505 per tonne fob for the week ending Tuesday July 18, up $3-20 over the week.
