CIS billet export prices keep climbing, buyers hesitant

CIS billet export prices continued to rise last week supported by the reduced availability of the product in the region as well as ongoing long steel price rises, but buyers were becoming wary sources told Metal Bulletin.

Metal Bulletin's CIS billet index price moved up by $6 per tonne over the week to $431 per tonne fob Black Sea on Monday July 24.
As most of the mills were staying out of the market, some of them being sold out, some waiting for the prices to peak, there were predominantly traders, who was selling material last week.
