Brazil's new iron ore royalties rate to rely on global prices

Brazilian royalties on iron ore will rise to as much as 4%, depending on global market prices, from a previous maximum of 2%, according to a decree published by the federal government in the country’s official gazette on Wednesday July 26.

The new royalty rates are as follows:

2% for prices of less than $60 per tonne 2.50% for prices of $60.00-69.99 per tonne 3% for prices of $70.00-79.99 per tonne 3.50%...
