ArcelorMittal to boost flat steel output with Eisenhüttenstadt investment

ArcelorMittal is planning to increase flat steel production by 100,000 tpy at its site in Eisenhüttenstadt, in eastern Germany, a spokesman told Metal Bulletin this week.

The world’s largest steelmaker will invest a total of €25 million ($29 million) into the Eisenhüttenstadt plant, which will focus on producing high-strength steel for high-value sectors such as automotive and white goods manufacture, ArcelorMittal said on Wednesday July 27.
