Long-awaited Algerian rebar import licences issued with severely reduced volumes

Import rebar licences for the rest of 2017 for a total volume of 534,100 tonnes were distributed among 113 importers, including seven state-owned companies, an Algerian source said.
Of the total import quota, around 200,000 tonnes were granted to government companies, with the rest going to private importers, according to a European trader involved in Algeria-bound trading.
