China’s crude stainless steel output up 4% in H1 on higher profits

China’s crude stainless steel output increased 4% in the first half of year of 2017 on producers’ improved profitability.

Stainless steelmakers in the country produced 12.26 million tonnes of crude stainless steel during the period, up 491,000 tonnes from an adjusted 11.77 million tonnes in the first half of last year, according to data released by the China Stainless Steel Council earlier this month.
