UK alloy steel scrap prices rise further on nickel price jump

The UK inter-merchant price for austenitic alloy steel scrap rose by £20-50 ($26-65) per tonne this week as the nickel price continued to strengthen, sources said on Friday August 11.

Metal Bulletin’s weekly price assessment for inter-merchant 18/8 scrap solids in the UK was £880-900 ($1,143-1,169) per tonne delivered on Friday, up week-on-week from £830-880 ($1,078-1,143) per tonne on August 4.
