AÇO BRASIL CONF: Steel institute sees exports as industry 'oxygen'

The Brazilian steel sector is keeping all eyes on the export market as the rebound in local steel demand is predicted to be a long time in coming, Aço Brasil president Alexandre de Campos Lyra said on Tuesday August 22.

“The steel industry needs oxygen, and exports are this oxygen,” he told delegates during the 28th Brazilian Steel Congress, organised by national steel institute Aço Brasil, in Brasília.
