CIS Baltic Sea pig iron export prices rise on higher deals

Export prices for Baltic Sea-region, CIS-origin pig iron have gone up over the past week as higher-priced deals have been heard.

Meanwhile, in the Black Sea market, pig iron trading activity was said to be slow.

Metal Bulletin’s weekly price assessment for CIS-origin low-manganese pig iron was $400-410 per tonne fob Baltic Sea on Thursday August 24, up from $370-400 per tonne fob last week.
Russia’s Tulachermet was heard to have sold a total of 10,000 tonnes of its low-manganese pig iron in several deals at $400-410 per tonne fob Baltic Sea, according to a source close to the producer.
