US docks raise prices in quiet scrap export market

US East Coast docks have increased their ferrous scrap buying prices across the board to fulfil commitments already made, but the export market remains quiet due to back-to-back holidays in Turkey.

Turkish buyers will need to re-enter the market when they return from their national Victory Day and religious Eid al-Adha holidays, with expectations that trading will resume next week, market sources told Metal Bulletin sister title AMM.
