China's HRC export prices rise on domestic market strength

China’s export prices for hot rolled coil regained some upward momentum over the past week with the domestic market experiencing another round of growth.

Metal Bulletin’s assessment of prices for October/November shipments of commercial-grade, boron-containing SS400 HRC was $555-570 per tonne fob for the week ended Tuesday September 5, up by $5-10 per tonne from a week ago.
A Beijing-based trader said he had concluded a transaction involving 5,000 tonnes to Vietnam at $555 per tonne fob last Wednesday. Meanwhile, a source at a northern Chinese mill said that it had sold several hundred tonnes to the overseas market at $560 per tonne fob last week.
