Ternium concludes acquisition of Brazilian slab producer CSA for $1.67bn

Latin American steel group Ternium has concluded the acquisition of Brazilian slab producer Companhia Siderúrgica do Atlântico (CSA), following the approval of Brazil’s competition regulator, Cade.

It is paying Germany’s ThyssenKrupp €1.40 billion ($1.67 billion for the slab producer in Brazil’s south-eastern Rio de Janeiro state.
On Wednesday September 6, Cade rejected an appeal filed by local steelmaker CSN against the purchase, upholding its previous decision to approve sale without restrictions.
