Taiwanese scrap import prices inch down on lower bids
Taiwan’s prices for imports of containerised HMS-grade ferrous scrap have gone down over the past week, as lower bids were heard amid an absence of deals and static offers.
“The Taiwanese import market has been very quiet this week. Mills buy scrap domestically, but their bids are not workable for the suppliers,” a trader said.
Domestic scrap was understood still to be more attractive than imported material for Taiwanese steel mills.
