LME signals 'shift in attitude' at Town Hall meeting

The London Metal Exchange’s new "strategic pathway" has proved that the exchange is starting to listen and work with its members again, market sources said.

Following a Town Hall meeting yesterday, the exchange set out the next steps to improve the LME and members are happy with the progress. “It was important that the LME listened this time and did not ignore the views of their market,” one source said. “Luckily, they are listening and they are willing to change things, which can only be a good thing,” he added. Changes set out include a reduction in carry fees, an introduction of an OTC fee and adding new products to its portfolio. It will consult the market further...
