Turkish domestic scrap prices fall in line with strong lira, weak import values

Turkey's domestic scrap prices have fallen over the past week in line with the strengthening Turkish lira and falling imported scrap prices, sources said on Monday September 11.

Turkish steel producers have reduced their buying prices for auto bundle scrap by TRY10-40 ($3-12) per tonne over the past week. Alloy steel producer Asil Çelik reduced its buy price for the material to TRY1,260 ($370) per tonne, while the long steel mill IDÇ reduced its price to TRY1,180 per tonne delivered.
