Rizhao Iron & Steel, Hesteel raise coke purchase prices again

A fresh round of increases has emerged in China’s coke market, with two steel majors raising their purchase prices by 100 yuan ($15) per tonne, effective from Wednesday September 13, Metal Bulletin has learned.

Shandong province’s Rizhao Iron & Steel is now paying 2,350 yuan ($361) per tonne for materials with 58% coke strength after reaction (CSR) and 0.65% sulphur, and 2,300 yuan per tonne for those with 57% CSR and 0.7% sulphur, delivered to its steelmaking facilities.
