Northern European mills seek to raise domestic HRC prices

Northern European steelmakers have followed the international trend and increased their domestic hot rolled coil (HRC) offer prices, sources told Metal Bulletin on Wednesday September 13.

“The mills are talking about price rises, but not all the buyers have received new offers. I think that the prices were revealed during negotiations,” a trader said. Although the new offer prices have not been reflected in deals yet, buyers will probably have to accept them – at least to some extent, according to market sources. Producers, meanwhile, will benefit from low buyer interest in imports as well as high prices...
