Brazil’s alumina export volumes up 12% y-o-y in August

Brazilian alumina exports in August increased by 12% year on year, mostly attributed to higher shipments from the northern state of Pará, in continuing tight global market conditions.

Shipments totalled 762,026 tonnes last month, compared with 680,574 tonnes in August 2016, according to figures from the country’s foreign trade ministry, MDIC.
