EU stainless long steel base prices set to rise on high electrode costs

European stainless steel base prices for long products have widened upward as mills seek to raise prices further on rising graphite electrode costs, sources told Metal Bulletin on Friday September 15.

Metal Bulletin’s weekly price assessment for grade-304 bright bar widened upward by €5 per tonne week-on-week to €950-975 ($1,130-1,159) per tonne delivered on Friday, compared with €950-970 per tonne delivered on September 8.
