Aço Brasil argues that Brazilian steel exports to the USA are mainly billets and slabs, and do not represent any threat to US industry or to that country’s national security.
“It would make no sense [to impose punitive measures],” Aço Brasil executive president Marco Polo de Mello Lopes told Metal Bulletin on Wednesday September 27. “It would only hurt the US industry.”
