EUROPE BEAMS: Stockholders, mills want price increases despite fall in scrap cost

Offer prices for steel beams in Europe have increased from certain stockholders and mills over the past week despite a decline in ferrous scrap costs, sources have told Metal Bulletin.

“This morning, the mills even said they wanted to increase prices. Demand is very good for them, and the total cost of graphite electrodes has gone up massively,” one distributor said on Wednesday September 28.
