Marginal cut in global steel capacity in H1 2017, OECD says

Structural supply-demand imbalances in the global steel market have not been addressed since the first six months of 2017 showed a marginal reduction in global crude steel capacity, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation & Development (OECD) said late last week.

World steelmaking capacity was 2.3565 billion tonnes at the end of the first half of 2017, down marginally from 2.3695 billion tonnes at the end of 2016.
