CIS billet export prices drop further on earlier falls in scrap cost

Prices in the Black Sea billet export market have fallen further over the past week, with some lower-priced deals and offers being heard while the decline continues in Turkish scrap import prices.

Workable prices were said to have risen at the start of this week, however, when prices for the steelmaking raw material in Turkey rebounded.
The Metal Bulletin CIS billet index declined by $12 per tonne to $494 per tonne fob Black Sea on Monday October 9, from $506 per tonne fob a week earlier.
