US silicon metal price rises again in October

US silicon prices continued to rise in October, pressured higher by concerns of tightened supply following the imposition of preliminary dumping duties on imported metal from Brazil, Australia and Norway.

Metal Bulletin’s sister publication AMM assessed the free-market spot silicon price at $1.26-1.29 per lb on Tuesday October 10, an increase of 2.8% from $1.22-26 per lb a month earlier. This is the highest price since July 2015.
