Peruvian copper production in August was 3.8% higher than last year, boosted mainly by higher volumes from Cerro Verde and Antamina mines.
Copper output totalled 209,091 tonnes in August, compared with 201,482 tonnes in August 2016.
Freeport-McMoRan’s Cerro Verde produced 46,174 tonnes of copper in August, up by 10% from the year before.
Antamina mine’s copper output grew 6.43% in the same comparison, reaching 36,273 tonnes in August.
