Chinese buying slows slide in seaborne coking coal prices

There is still demand in China for seaborne cargoes of premium hard coking coal, though the outlook remains bearish, market participants said on Tuesday October 17.

“Chinese steel demand is definitely coming down and the effect is slowly trickling into the market for steelmaking raw materials,” a seller source said.
A Chinese buyer source said that miners were largely sold out on November cargoes but traders still had a large number of shipments to offer to buyers.
