CIS export slab prices set to rise on Chinese HRC gains

CIS slab exporters are considering an increase in prices in the near term following the uptick in the domestic and export markets for flat steel in China, Metal Bulletin has learnt.

Export HRC offers for November/December shipments of commercial-grade, boron-containing SS400-grade hot rolled coil (HRC) from major Chinese mills rose by $15 per tonne to $575-580 per tonne fob on Monday October 16. This compared with $560-580 per tonne fob a week earlier....
