Taiwanese scrap import prices flat on stable supply, demand

Import prices for containerised HMS-grade ferrous scrap in Taiwan were stable this week on unchanged fundamentals.

Market sources said there were no significant changes in supply and demand to affect prices. A key buyer kept its bid unchanged, while offers have not increased either.
Transactions continued to fall in the same range as last week.
As such, Metal Bulletin’s assessment of import prices for USA-origin HMS 1&2 (80:20) into Taiwan was $275-285 per tonne cfr for the week ending Friday October 20, the same as a week ago.
