CHINA HRC: Domestic prices tumble on amid diving futures

China’s domestic hot rolled coil prices dropped again on Friday October 27 as the paper market experienced another round of decline, which continued to put pressure on the export market.

Eastern China (Shanghai): 3,960-4,020 yuan ($597-606) per tonne, down 60-70 yuan per tonne
Northern China (Tianjin): 3,970-4,000 yuan per tonne, down 30 yuan per tonne
Futures prices decreased throughout the day, which dragged down spot prices.
The sharp drop over the last two days led some consumers to return to the market to restock, however, which led to an increase in trading activity ahead of the weekend, market participants said.
