CIS export pig iron market trading again after price cuts

Trading activity in the CIS pig iron export market has improved after suppliers reduced their prices last week to a level that is workable for consumers, Metal Bulletin has heard.

Metal Bulletin’s export price assessment for high-manganese pig iron from the CIS region on Thursday October 26 was $325-335 per tonne fob Black Sea, narrowing from $320-340 per tonne fob Black Sea a week earlier.
“There was a sale [from Ukraine] to the United States, so not much cargo from the Black Sea is available and mills which have tonnages will be firm on prices,” a trader told Metal Bulletin.
